Welcome to Lora Lee’s family farm

We are excited to welcome you to our home and farm! We are located in Duvall, WA near the Snoqualmie River.

Our Farm’s History

We are a 1st generation farm, and this is how our story began….

It was the day after Thanksgiving, 2002, and like every other year we were in Stanwood picking out our Christmas tree.

My very social sweetheart was visiting with the neighboring farm and found out they sold tree seedlings in the spring.  We purchased our first 200 trees the very next year.  We thought this was just a fun project to share with family and friends, thousands of trees later we became real Christmas Tree Farmers.

We are a family owned and operated farm. The majority of the hard work is done by the four of us, my husband Eddie, myself, our eldest Owen, and the baby of the family, Dietrich. We have a few extended family members who help out, along with friends of the boys who we consider family.

Our Christmas Tree Farm grew very quickly, much to our surprise. Fast forward many years down the road, I was so ready to retire from my post-construction cleaning business but still needed to contribute to our home. My sweetheart stepped in again with his creative mind and came up with the Sunflower Maze idea.  At least he thought it was his idea, until he looked on the world wide web and saw that the East Coast beat him to it.  During the summer of 2020, we grew a test field of sunflowers, we had to make sure we could grow them, and we could.  It was absolutely beautiful, and the next summer our new journey began. We are proud that we were the first Sunflower Maze in Washington, we seem to have started a trend!

I am an avid gardener; I love growing flowers of all kinds. Ed has always been there to help add my next flower bed. He didn’t realize the can of worms he was opening when he came up with the sunflower idea. But it couldn’t stop there, I had to have a cutting garden to share with everyone who visits the farm.  This new style of gardening is definitely a learning experience, but I enjoy the challenges and cringe at the mishaps.

I am excited to see where our little family farm is heading next, and I look forward to passing the farm along to our 3rd generation of farmers. Welcome to Lora Lee’s Family Farm!

Meet the Team

  • Lora Lee

I’m a life-long Washingtonian, I grew up in Lynnwood and graduated from Edmonds High School. Growing up, I spent my summers visiting Duvall and the Tolt River in Carnation. My dad once asked me if I ever thought I’d end up here, my response was “Never in my wildest dreams”. I love the life that we’ve made here together. I’m happy to call the flower field my office, you can find me there, or around the farm running things during sunflower season.

  • Eddie

North Philadelphia, born and raised… At least until the age of three when my family moved to Clarks Summit, PA outside of Scranton where I grew up. I moved to Seattle in ‘94, married the love of my life, and we started the farm together. I’m usually the one who comes up with the big ideas, and I take care of most of the day-to-day farm tasks in between work and golf rounds. You can find me on the tractor, or running things during Christmas Tree season.

  • Zuzu

Hi!! I’m Zuzu, the Farm Dog! I love belly rubs and helping my family on the farm. I’m usually inside when we are busy, but if you see me around, make sure to say hi!

  • Dietrich

I’m a farm boy at heart, I could never see myself living in the city. I grew up on the farm and graduated from Cedarcrest High School where I was a Future Farmers of America officer. I raised and showed goats at the fair through FFA, which led to the huge herd of goats we have today. I am now a cook in building 121 at Microsoft. When I’m not at work, I’m wrangling goats, slinging wieners, or bailing trees. Come find me at one of my stations, I love talking goat!

  • Owen

I have had the blessing of growing up on this farm. I graduated from Cedarcrest High School and went to college at the University of Wyoming. I spent my breaks from college working on the farm, and now I am at home full time. I am lucky enough to work remotely, so I can work on the farm on evenings and weekends. I do a little bit of everything on the farm. Whether it is Sunflower or Christmas season, you can usually find me hanging around directing people or answering questions. Otherwise, I am helping out wherever help is needed.

  • Laurel

I was born and raised in the Snoqualmie Valley. I grew up spending time at local farms, swimming at the Tolt River, and playing sports After graduating from Cedarcrest High School, I went to nursing school, and started as a cardiac nurse at UW Medical Center. I was visiting the Sunflower maze with friends when I met Owen. We started dating and I was quickly brought in as a member of the family. I have loved being involved in farm activities, managing the farm’s online presence, and helping out where I can!
